China Watch Blog reports that Xaxis, the world’s largest audience buying company, has announced the launch of operations in Hong Kong.

The company will work directly with GroupM Hong Kong in enabling regional marketers to utilize Xaxis audience buying solutions in their digital media campaigns. Andy Chung has been tapped to lead the new office as Director, Hong Kong.

Beginning today, marketers in the Hong Kong region will be able to implement coordinated audience buying campaigns on multiple digital media channels via Xaxis’ proprietary data management platform (DMP). In addition to running campaigns across display, online video, social and mobile channels from a single location, clients will be able to track and measure their results with an unparalleled degree of transparency and sophistication.

In addition to driving the Tribal Fusion business, he was also responsible for managing the team that provided suitable targeting options, data, insights and optimization methods for both direct clients and agencies including GroupM.

China Watch Blog has learnt that China’s top broadcasting watchdog on Wednesday ordered a ban on sex-related advertisements on the country’s radio and TV.

In a circular issued Wednesday, the State Administration of Radio, Film and Television (SARFT) demanded greater self-discipline from radio and TV stations in handling commercials.

The broadcasters should not insert any commercial advertisements between the titles, the body and the trailer while airing TV dramas, the administration said.

Broadcasters should examine advertisements related to drugs, medical equipment, health supplements and TV shopping in a serious manner before airing them, according to the circular.

The administration also said commercial advertisements should not be aired under the guise of a news report, or in the form of a news interview.

News anchors should never serve as product endorsers for commercials, the circular added.
