China Watch Blog reports that the USA has shot into the lead with 81 medals, including 34 gold, 22 silver and 25 bronze, while China has earned 76 medals, including 35 gold, 22 silver and 19 bronze, with just four days more before the Olympics ends on August 12, 2012 (London date), which will be August 13, 2012 (Hong Kong date).

Russia is in third place with 52 medals, while Great Britain the host of the Games, is in fourth place with 48 medals.

Germany has 32 medals, Japan 31, France 28, Australia 26, South Korea 24, and Italy 17.
