China Watch Blog has learnt that the sea-air multimodal transport business pioneer in the United Arab Emirates, Issa Baluch, recently launched his second book, Transport Logistics: The Wheel of Commerce, at the FIATA World Congress 2010 held in Bangkok, Thailand.
“The wheel is one of the greatest inventions of all time, and has played a pivotal role in economic and social development,” said Baluch. “The wheel of commerce is a symbol of the many elements that comprise modern-day world commerce, and the foundation upon which the world’s commerce operates.”
Transport Logistics: The Wheel of Commerce examines the impact of the 2008 recession on the industry, and argues that the industry itself serves as a harbinger of both up and down turns in the economy.
The book also discusses the status of transport logistics planning and preparation in 11 countries: Canada, Chile, India, Singapore and the United Arab Emirates (UAE), plus six in Africa-Burundi, Ethiopia, Ghana, Kenya, Rwanda and Tanzania.
