2005-12-14 12:08:59

SINGAPORE, Dec 14 (GCTL) - State-owned Singapore port operator PSA said its terminals moved 23.2 per cent more containers in the first 11 months of 2005 than a year earlier, thanks to heavy trade between Asia and Europe and North America, the Business Times reported.

The firm, which operates ports in Singapore and abroad, said in a statement it handled 37.3 million TEU (20-ft equivalent unit) of containers during the period compared with 30.2 million TEU in the same period last year.

PSA International’s container growth has been lifted since August, when it began including container data from its newly acquired Hong Kong operations.
