AUCKLAND, June 20 (GCTL) - Rob Fyfe's replacement as Air New Zealand chief executive won't take over until December to allow a seamless transition of power, the Dominion Post reported.

The national carrier has announced that Christopher Luxon, a former Unilever Canada boss and current Air NZ group general manager of international airline, will be its next chief executive officer.

Chairman John Palmer said the six-month handover would provide an opportunity for Luxon to step aside from his current role to spend time exploring other areas within the business and to cement international contacts in both aviation and investor markets.
