BANGKOK, OCT 11 (GCTL) - Thai Airways International Plc (THAI) will soon start putting into effect its employee migration project, aimed at moving more than 20,000 staff from Don Muang Airport to work at the new Suvarnabhumi Airport, the Bangkok Post reported.

Kobchai Srivilas, senior executive vice president for corporate planning and information technology, serves as the chairman of the management committee for THAI at Suvarnabhumi Airport. He said the employee migration project was in response to the Thai government's plan to begin commercial operations at Suvarnabhumi in the middle of next year.

Kobchai said the company has been gathering information about the school needs of its employees, hospital requirements, shuttle services and home purchasing. "The company needs all of this information in progression. Then we can make further plans for the migration, which is expected to start within this year," said Kobchai.
